It’s a dark day for John. I’m am one of the few people who actually really likedDaredevil. I thought it was fun. It was a great cast, good action, and anything withJennifer Garnerin it will have me in line to see it as fast as I can. But more than that I just thought it was a solid overall film that didn’t get the credit it deserved, probably because Ben Affleck was in it (and by the way, I thought he did a very respectable job as Daredevil). I was sure that there would be a sequel, when a franchise movie makes over $100 million at the box office you can usually bank on it. But I guess with Ben Affleck making statements like these, the chances are slim to none:

Ben Affleck badmouthed Daredevil and any eventual sequel at a recent press conference. “I don’t know about Daredevil II. That may be too much work for me,” Affleck said while promoting the release of Paycheck. “I suppose that if Kevin Smith wrote it and was going to be involved, I would do it. … I’m not banging down the door trying to get Daredevil II made. You’ll know when my career is really on the slide when I start resurrecting the franchise.”

No Ben, we’ll know you’re career is really on the slide when you start winning Razie awards and no one wants to see any of your movies anymore. Oh wait… maybe you WILL be making Daredevil 2 soon after all!
