AFI teaching Scientists to screenwrite!

Script.jpgIt’s been known for some time that Screenwriters are helping the Government in understanding possible new terrorist attacks and such, and it looks like the American Film Institute have grabbed hold of that idea too.

According toMedical News Today,所有电影的地方新闻,说:

The American Film Institute is accepting applications from scientists and engineers to participate in a workshop to learn about writing for movies. Focusing on storytelling and screenwriting, “Catalyst Workshop: Communicating Science and Engineering” will be held Aug. 1 – 5, 2005 at the American Film Institute in Los Angeles.

The workshop aims to help scientists and engineers become more knowledgeable about motion picture projects, and to encourage them to write and submit scripts. Scientists and engineers are often needed as consultants for movies and television shows to help produce pictures and programs with “better science.”

Visit the Medical News site for the full application details, I think though they are definitely looking for real Scientists and Engineers. It does look like the AFI at least realise Hollywood needs to look around for new ideas and find them from fresh areas. PerhapsPrimerprompted this move a little.
